Hi,
I just had salt added to my pool. My question is, should I get a salt testing kit?? I have an Aquapure system and it gives me a salinity level, but something is wrong with it. It is telling my I have a high reading over 4.0 which couldn't be right. I did take a sample to be tested and it was 2700 ppm. So, I don't trust the system at all and think I should get a test kit. What do you guys do and use?
Thanks,
Doug

Taylor makes a drop based salt test kit that is what most of us go by.

If the SWG is fairly new the odds are very high that it is correct about the salt level and however else you got a salt test result is incorrect.

One thing to keep in mind is that the salt level never starts at zero. A fresh fill will have a fairly low salt level, while a pool that has been in service for a while can easily be over 1,000.
