From Bacq to chlorine

I am in the process of switching my 30k gallon pool from Bacq to chlorine. I am having a hard time getting the chlorine levels to stay up consistently. How long does this usually take? I have been using bleach and stabilizer chlorine tablets. Pool looks great, no cloudiness. Chlorine level when I test at night is .5 PPM. Should I jut keep adding bleach?

I'm a rookie chlorine man. Any help would be appreciated.

You do not usually want to be adding stabilizer (CYA, which is in the tablets) until a certain part of the conversion process. You just need to keep adding bleach until the level starts to hold.
