Premixing CYA

Would there be any issues with mixing CYA with water into a 5 gallon bucket so you don't have to wait a long time for it to dissolve in your pool? Just wondering if you can make your own liquid CYA for future use.

Others on the forum have tried it and report back that it doesn't mix well at all and there is little to be gained in pre-mix.

I wonder if it is a water temperature or saturation related thing.

Saturation, some minuscule amount does dissolve, and then the water is saturated.

I wold suppose that like so many other solutions, you could supersaturate by using heat, but how high a heat? Not worth trying!

Heat helps more dissolve, but still not enough to be useful.

The Natural Chemistry® Instant Pool Water Conditioner product is a slurry of sodium cyanurate. That is made from Cyanuric Acid by adding Lye (sodium hydroxide) to it. This isn't as easy as it sounds so I wouldn't recommend trying to do this yourself.

Yes you can get liquid stabilizer at the pool store or online, but it is a little pricey IMO.
