We started our pool building adventure last year. After doing a lot of research and reading on thiis forum and Gardenweb, we signed a contract in November. Our build was supposed to start over the winter and then get finished in early spring. It definitely has not worked out as expected. Our pool wasn't dug until March 25th. Since then we have encountered a series of issues and unexpected delays. Our pool builder has acknowledged along the way that our build has not gone well. Our confidence in the PB's ability to complete the pool in a timely and quality manner has been shaken so we have all agreed to halt the project. My family is very disappointed because we expected to be able to use the pool for the whole summer and the NJ swim season is not very long. We will join a swim club, sign up for summer camps, and spend our time talking to contractors about how the project should be completed. We expect it to take longer but we want to make sure it is done right. I think the first thing we will need to do is strip the site of fill that has been spread over where our patio will go.
Here are some pics of the build so far.
