Is Hayward still in business?

Sure, hope you can read it. The pool is lovely when it's all clean and sparkling. You really wouldn't want to see what it looked like for the majority of this past summer. Hard water, then flock or whatever the stuff is called that makes the metals congeal and sink, vac to waste, add more water from well...more metals. We've used pre-filters but they're only good for about 1200 gal and it gets really expensive to buy them for filling the pool back up. Plus the liner has a leak somewhere in the deep end so we lose some over the winter, so this year the hose that attaches to the cover sump pump is going to be routed back into the pool to try to keep the level up. It's a challenge. This is what happens when you buy a house with a pool. :hammer:

That is actually a 1.5 HP SuperPump. The motor was probably replaced at some point. Flow rate will probably be somewhere between 60-75 GPM. So minimum/ideal filter sizes:

Cartridge: 200/400 sq-ft
DE: 40/80 sq-ft
Sand: 5/7 sq-ft
