CYA and Alkalinity Relation

The short answer is: unless you are calculating a calcium saturation index, the CYA - TA relationship can be completely ignored. If you are calculating a saturation index, which most people have no reason to do, we recommend using the Pool Calculator which automatically makes the needed adjustments for you.

Couple of weeks ago I received the TF-100 and is really fantastic! I want some advice about when to shock. I had been checking the FC and CC using the FAS-DPD method. During the last weeks the CC reading is 0. The question: Is necessary to shock having the CC in 0, or will be good idea to shock, said, monthly?

Plaster: 13,000 gal., Waterfall, 1.5HP pump, DE Filter, FC~5, CC~0, pH=7.5, CH=270, CYA=38, Alk=80
