Can I hook up Intex .95 HP 2650gph pump w/out sand filter?

I filled my new Intex pool and then found out the pool sand for the upgraded 2650gph pump won't be delivered till later this week. Since I cut the intake and return holes larger and installed the larger fittings I can't go back to using the small pump that came with the pool.

Can I hook up the pump without the sand filter, just to get the CYA in a sock going and to help mix up the chlorine I'm adding every morning?
Will it hurt anything?

So I would hook the return hose direct to the pump outlet instead of the 6way valve on top of the sand filter.

Sure, you can hook up the pump and move the water in the pool. You could then add some bleach to get your water clear... and the CYA you mentioned. It simply means any debris in the pool will continue to be there until you add the filter.

Thanks for the confirmation, got it running this evening and works like charm! Was able to start adding chems and start testing finally.
