Leak in in-ground liner

I have vinyl liner, in-ground 18x38. I think I found the hole (using food color to identify leak on lip of bottom step. I hope that is the only one....just seems like a lot of water going out such a small hole -- about an inch a day.

Can it be patched without draining? Should I just hire a repair service? Where would I find a patch kit if I could patch it without draining the pool?

Very frustrated......heat of South Carolina summer and a leaking pool.

I had good luck with http://www.leaktools.com/leakmaster_repair/service.php 'Flexible Sealer'. Kind of like caulk that firms up. It depends on the size of the hole, and I have scuba equip so it makes application a bit easier.. but much easier than draining.

A boxer repair kit is about the best you can get. You can repair the leak under water with it. Most pool places usually keep kits in stock.
