HELP - added stabilizer, now stabilizer coming out returns

Perhaps I shouldnt have, but I did add stabilizer to skimmer without basket. Immediately I see it coming out all my return jets. It does seem to be reducing with time, but at the moment is continuing but why did this happen? I though it would sit in my filter and dissolve slowly? Now that it happened, what should I do? Thanks for the help, I'm a brand new pool owner.

Your filter should have caught it and held it until it dissolved. You may want to take it apart and see if you can find the problem. Has it been bypassing debris?
