I have high PH 7.8+ and low TA 50ppm according to the test I did today. I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing...adding muriatic acid to lower the PH and Sodium Bicarbonate to increase the TA. Does that sound right?

Just note that if you raise the TA you increase the rate of pH rise so you may not want to raise it very much (assuming you are not using a net acidic source of chlorine).
