48 inch liner in 52 inch pool?

Hi All,

We purchased a house 10 years ago that came with a 15x30 oval above ground pool. It is time for a liner replacement as well as other repairs. Since pool is somewhat set into the ground due to a sloping yard, I measured the wall height to the bottom of the pool not thinking about the sand depth in the bottom. The measurement came to about 48 inches so I bought a 48 inch liner.

Now while doing some repairs i noticed that the walls are actually 52 inches. Should I return the liner? Or am I ok since the sand is at 48-49 inches?

That liner will never fit unless you build the bottom of the pool floor up.
