New house and first pool. Noticed the pool light is tripping the gfci, if I only turn the spa light on all is fine. When I look at the light it is half full of water. Does this mean I need a whole new fixture or just a new gasket and bulb?
Some see the light as half full, and others see it as half empty. - LOL
But seriously, usually the light can be dried out, and the bulb and gasket replaced, and you're OK. If the light is corroded inside, then it will need to be replaced.
My situation last year was absolutely identical. (Well, not absolutely.....I live in NC!! ) I dried out the fixture, replaced the gasket and the bulb, and have had no problems since. Probably a good idea to get to it sooner rather than later to prevent any corrosion.
