We are building a new home with a pool in Oklahoma. We previously had a vinyl pool and were pleased. We are considering vinyl vs concrete with pebble tec for our new pool. A primary consideration for us is pool maintenance. The easier to maintain the better. We are new to this forum and are seeking advise. Thank you

Welcome to TFP!

Vinyl is much more forgiving of some of the chemical levels being off, particularly CH. Vinyl is also easier on your feet. On the other hand vinyl typically lasts 8 to 12 years, and can occasionally fail well before that, while pebbletec can last over 30 years if you maintain the chemistry well.

Regardless of what you choose, you will love this forum. It is a life-saver for so many of us.

You may wish to poke around your area and see what some basic prices are for the two different types of pool. I hear that in some areas of the country there isn't much price difference between the two, but where you live there might be significant differences, which may influence your choice.

Congratulations and good luck with your new home/build!
