Look for recommendations for a variable speed pump for a 14,400 gallon above ground Intex pool, 16x32. I had a 1/3hp TidalWave, but it failed after about two seasons of use.

I tried searching Amazon and Home Depot, but they don't seem to like fractions. I purchased the Tidalwave pump from Doheny's, but have not had a great customer experience with them.

My Hayward is on its 4th year, 2nd Intex pool. Has not missed a beat. I do bring it in every winter and am full PVC piped.

Are you using 120V or 240V? If 120V the options are somewhat limited. Look into a Waterway Power Defender PD140 for a name brand VSP that can be used on either. The Pentair SuperFlo VST can be used on either as well, but it is more expensive.
The Calimar/Circupool/BlueTorrent/Black and Decker are all 240V only, but many on this blog have said good things about them.
