The water is becoming very clear. see photos.
my questions:

my pH is high, I've put muriatic acid in (almost 40 ounces), should i wait til FC comes down? the acid has helped somewhat... it's nearing 8 but still not there. I want to get it to 8 or high 7s just to not worry about it as much... we wont be swimming for a month.

FC is off charts... i guess due to shock... it's likely 50 or more ppm... is this ok?

Ignore your ph for now until SLAM is complete and FC level drops below 10..it's reading falsely high.

sweet - this is what i was hoping... how will i know when FC is down? its like right off the charts almost non-measurable.

You should visit Pool School and consider one of our recommended test kits. At least the DPD powder chlorine test.

yes I have the full TFP test kit! what a great investment.
today testing is magically different! FC is wayyyy down, from over 50 to I'd say around 20... will get precise numbers after the sun burns off today.
And my pH was dramatically lower... I'd say it went from 9 to 7 (likely a little too much acid on my part). I tried to top it off with borax today to bring int back to good pH range.
water is very very clear and has that diamond look already... 60 hrs into SLAM. see pic
