I'm new to owning a pool and recently my pool pump motor went out. My home warranty sent a technician who replaced the motor with a Pentair motor which did not have the same hp. I noticed and mentioned it to him but he explained that this is a superior motor to the one I had, said something about "rated hp" being the same as the one I had. I don't currently have any issues but wanted to confirm that what I was told was legit or if this guy just installed an undersized motor that will burn out early. Some other specs of my pool are aprox 30k gallons, spa, waterfall (separate pump), Polaris 360(runs on booster pump when main pump is on)
2.5 hp Century motor replaced with 1.5 hp pentair motor
