Hello all, I posted my hello to the site and, as indicated posted my first test results (Yes, from Leslie Pool, and will be getting the Taylor Kit shortly), so in the meantime, pool info and results.

11x29 rectangular plaster pool refinished in 2021
Attached spa
Currently have a PoolRX+ in the basket (I just read it is not such a good idea)
Current issue: Dealing with calcium buildup at the water line and currently scrubbing off with Pumice stone.

RESULTS

Free Chlorine 2.93
Total Chlorine 3.08
PH 8.1 (high)
Total Alkalinity 71 (Low)
Calcium Hardness 543 (Not going to complete drain pool, but about 1/4 to 1/2 way and then refil.)
Cyanuric Acid 94
Iron 0
Phosphates 726
TDS 1600

LESLIE'S RECOMMENDED COURSE OF ACTION

Add No Metal (is on their solution sheet but they are not recommending it)
4lbs, 14oz of Alkalinity Up wait 4 hours
28 Fl oz of Muriatic Acid, wait 4 hours
Leslie Stain & Scale Prevent (On recommendation but not highlighted (recommended) by store manager
47 oz of No Phos (not sure such a good idea, but I have used it in the past) I Would like to know the Forums recommendation on this.)

I look forward to interacting with you all and finally getting my pool in appropriate shape.

David

Welcome to TFP!!!

I would do nothing based on those test results. I certainly would not add the recommendations they gave you. Especially the No metal, stain and Scale and the No Phos. You likely will not need the Alk up. You may need some muriatic, but I have seen kit results report 7.4pH and pool stores report 8.2. Don't add any of their recommendations.

Add 5ppm per day of Liquid Chlorine until you test kit arrives. Nothing else.

When your kit arrives, post a full set of results and we will launch you!!!

Congrats on the kit!
