Looking to upgrade my pump this year to a more energy efficient option.
I currently have a 1.65hp Hayward single speed pump that is overkill (it was a hand-me-down from friends). It had no problem keeping the pool crystal clear all summer long, only running about 8 hours a day, but it was a major pain in the electric bill.
Looking at either the Black+Decker 1hp VSP for above ground pools, or the B+D 1.5hp Dual Speed Pump. Is a 1hp VSP enough for ~13k gallons? Any other recommended brands I should look at?
Also, I do have 220v power available as my current pump is the same. Thanks!
