well, no water today because they cannot buy the needed sand today. Well, no water in my pool. No worries though. Walls are up, top rails on, leveled, and temp pool setup and filling for tomorrow. Only two guys left here since they need the sand. They will be back tomorrow to finish the bottom and start filling. :)

Once this thing is full my plan is to test the water, put the numbers in pool calculator and add what it says. That sound about right? I already have all my chemicals on hand. 9 gallons of bleach, 25lbs of CYA, Muriatic Acid (31.45%), Borax, and baking soda. I also have a sock to put the CYA in and dangle in front of the return.

Did I miss anything? I will post my initial numbers here as well to record my fill water readings.

Also, measured the depth and its 2 1/2 feet in the ground. Better than I expected.

What is the Intex pool for?

Is your liner a beaded one?

It is looking great and boy am I jealous!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Now if I could have some of your attitude bottled and sent my way for my hubby I would have it made. :lol:

Looking good Glock, gotta admit I'm very jealous. Spend 6 hours working my site today(never ending leveling), hoping to have it up next weekend

@poolgranny - the intex gives them double the water when they are ready to set the liner.

The fill pool is to jumpstart the liner seating as stated above. its their way of dumping large amounts of water in a short amount of time. We have 110lbs of water pressure so it fill up in about 7 hours. The big pool will be a different story. lol The liner is an overlap expandable liner.

If it wasn't for the junk in the fill pool my daughter would have been in their in no time. I swear the girl has gills!

They should be here today and finish up the construction and start filling. Pics to come!

How do they transfer the water from the Intex to the new pool? Do they use a pump? I assume so but do you have to hook it up to a filter as well? I know this probably is elementary, but trying to imagine it in my head.

Most likely they will use a submersible pump(sump pump) which will move the water pretty quickly. I bought a 1/6th HP for when I transfer the water from what we are currently swimming in (15ft Intex) to the new pool and it "should" move 4800 gallons in under 2 hours.

Ok, lunch time so I snapped some pics. This things is going to be mostly deepend. :) They have pounded alot of sand down. The coving is out and next to the pool so I guess once they are happy with the smoothness of the bottom they will put in the coving and then the liner. :)

If you want more shallow, I would push for it now. However, if it was me, I'd keep it the way it is. Kids only get bigger and better at swimming...then they will want deeper. That shallow end is enough to keep little ones happy for now.
