Looks like they might be trying to salvage their reputation. I paid for a 2 foot sink and it looks like I am getting a 3-4 foot sink. Won't hurt my feelings one bit.
Ok, pics of the dig so far. the edge near the fence is the low side. Funny thing is it looks deeper in person. lol. Sorry fopr the crappy pics. Cell phones, ya know. I had to size them down from 8M so they look kinda small. Gotta love Texas black clay.
You and me both. lol. They are almost done digging the deep end. black clay is slick and the bobcat is having a hard time getting out once it has a load in the bucket. The bobcat operator is really well coordinated though. He handles the bob cat like a pro. I sure wish they would leave it over night and let me play with it.
Update. They finally left. Got alot done today. They will be back around noon tomorrow. They want to let the clay dry a little before they finish the dig. They ran into some wet clay and found it difficult to get the bobcat out of the hole once it was in. Anyway, here the latest. Not sure if that is ground water or if its from them mixing the concrete for the cinder blocks that are buried under the buttress supports. Seems to be ground water because it appears to be filling up. Hope it stops soon.
Yes, the clay can be quite nasty to deal with. It is like pliable bricks; very heavy and dense. I planted a tree and it died. Turns out that was a good thing as it would be smack dab in the middle of the pool. I keep hoping they will hit oil and set me free but it hasn't happened yet. There is more water in there this morning though. Will get a pic when it gets light outside.
We got a little more water in the hole today. Hoping most of it dries up today in the heat. PB said they would be back after lunch today but I bet they don't work with this water in there.
Pics. They were only here a couple hours and doubt they will work tomorrow. I wouldn't. lol Anyway, this is the latest. Got the water out and got the bottom roughed in and sand dumped. they also put in some bottom track. Can't wait to see if the water comes back.
I would but much prefer seeing what I'm stepping on or through. lol I think I will hit the neighbor's pool though. I haven't been in it since last year. I saw her last week at the gas station in that massive heat wave n she said to have at it. If no one is down there I will because I don't want to impose. I'll invite her over when I get mine done next year.
Guess who works on the 4th? The correct answer is pool installers! They got here an hour ago. I have walls! I will have water today! I hate that they are working today but they told me they get paid when it is done. Will post up new pics soon!
