Is an over-sized salt cell a wise investment for a pool owner?

Re: Is an over-sized salt cell a wise investment for a pool owne

There are only a couple of situations where failures are not related to current density, and they are all rare. For example, if the cell housing is struck by lightning and breaks in two you have a failure that is not related to current density, but an extremely rare one. As long as that kind of failure remains very rare, lifetime goes up with plate area.
