Passed the plumbing, bonding, and underground conduit inspections. Plumbing inspector came out and complimented my equipment enclosure (can’t wait to tell my wife that one and for her to say I need a bigger hat now ) I explained to him I did a 30psi test last night for a half hour with 1.5 loss, took a lap around the pool and said looks good I’m just going to give you the final tag I don’t need to come back out here and check your work.

Welp I’m tired, wet, and I have chubb rub from the dirt gettin in my pants called it quits around 3 today when the rain picked up. I got the pool about 1/3rd back filled which will really be about 1/4 once the rain packs it down along with most of the trenches. Tomorrow is another day and I will probably end up running to y-buy to rent a dingo. Even if I'm just loading wheelbarrows with the dingo it'll be a time saver.

$250 for the half day at HD and its was $70 more for the full day. I'd go through more money in ibuprofens doing it by hand.

The day was wasted waiting for the inspectors until 1pm so couldn't rent today but wanted to get SOMETHING done lolDingos are also incredibly fun to operate, so there's an entertainment value included in the price as well. I'm seeing we got 1.5" of rain last night, so you got that done just in time. It might look messy this morning, but you can relax a bit now and take your time getting that back filled and then regrading as necessary around it.
I wish the HD around here rented them. Our local HDs only rent tools - Drain Snakes, Flooring Machines, Cement Mixers, etc.$250 for the half day at HD and its was $70 more for the full day. I'd go through more money in ibuprofens doing it by hand.
Oh yeah it was a huge mess today I didn’t even try anything but I’m glad I backfilled around the pool a bit. No pooling around the outside except for this one spot. The trenches are another story but no worries on those lol.

Also just adding it to have it on here. I forgot to put the date of when I added chlorine prior but I think it was Friday or saturday 5/10. Tested at 2ppm FC, Added 2 quarts and brought it up to 8.5ppm by the next morning.
Tested last night (5/13) at 1.5ppm FC so I added 2 quarts again and swept the pool. Tested results this morning

Alkaline 110-120ppm
Calcium hardness 90ppm
I did test CYA since it has been almost a week, tested less than 30ppm CYA but not zero.
Tested last night (5/13) at 1.5ppm FC so I added 2 quarts again and swept the pool. Tested results this morning

I hope all of my NJ/east coast peeps along with anyone else that got hit by that storm are OK! Needless to say I was

Pictures taken about 5 min after it finally stopped and is slowly draining down, 1 spot had some washout near the wall and close to a leg but it doesn't look to have made it down to the base. On the bright side I don't think I have to worry about wetting the ground to compact it.....

I had to abandon the pool to divert the water from the house. Started pouring into the crawlspace via the vents

This last week of rain was crazy here. I had a sump running for 3 days to try and dry out my yard. Still cannot cut my grass unless I put the tractor into amphibious mode (and John Deere did not offer that on mine).
I have a yard drain that we affectionally call "the mystery drain". I know where it comes out (into the catch basin in the street, which technically is not permitted, but my excuse is it was like that when I bought this place). However it is now clogged, and while it will drain SLOWLY it backs up and makes lakes in my yard. So I throw a sump on a float switch into a basin in the yard, and pump it out down my driveway. Not the ideal solution, but it works.
I have tried clearing that drain with some really heavy duty drain snakes (like ones meant for cutting roots, and still no progress). I have dug up some of it (it is 6" corrugated drain pipe) but I don't know where it runs (hence the mystery in mystery drain) and eventually it is about 3' below grade. It needs to run under either my driveway, sidewalk, and/or driveway apron to get where it ends up. I have put cameras down that thing and cannot tell what the blockage is. I have run a jet rodder down it off of my pressure washer. I have put rare earth magnets on both the camera and the rodder and tried to trace them using a metal detector. It is still a mystery to me (and a constant source of irritation)
