Intex Copper Electrode Bypass

I want to get rid of my copper electrode housing on my Intex pool. I have read it is not necessary. It has begun leaking a little too so now is the time.

Wondering if these fittings are standard sized PVC fittings/threads or if they are proprietary. I would like to just run PVC from the pump discharge to the filter inlet and eliminate the electrode housing and the flex pipe.

Any help would be appreciated. This is an ECO20110-1

Nope - they are not standard fittings (like everything else INTEX). Most people just leave the electrode in place but unplug the cord (it no longer releases copper ions into the water when unplugged). I haven't seen anyone actually remove that completely. There are older posts on here where someone has removed the copper bars completely but that was shown to be unnecessary.
