Pool leak?

Hi, new to the forum and posting a question for a friend. I've noticed what I think is efflorescence on the exterior side of his pool wall a few times and when I looked at it today there is a spot that is noticeably wet. The pool is less than a year old and he's brought it to the attention of his pool installer, but they keep telling him that this is OK. I don't know anything about pools, and don't own one either, but this doesn't seem normal or OK to me. Just wanted to get someone else's thoughts. Thanks!

Oh, on the opposite side of the wet spot is a return jet form the pump/filter. it the return jet lines up almost exactly where the top of the wet spot is on the opposite side of the wall.

Is he seeing unexplained water loss?

Does he have an autofill?

Things may weep a bit on a pool and be ‘normal’.
