Well, it’s official, yinz love making me look like an idiot.
Just over a week ago after some discussions back and forth between our donor, Rebecca, and myself a notification went off on my phone. This was a text from Rebecca saying we’re gonna go for it, 13 days to reach $5,000. All I could think of is why? We’ve only once hit $5,000 over the course of a MONTH, why limit ourselves to less than two weeks? Why wouldn’t we drag our feet and run this starting August 1st??
Well, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my wife it’s to NEVER question a female when they say to do something. So I set aside my desire to wait until August and got to work. After some thinking I had expected to see about $3,000 come in over the two weeks which would do SO much good for TFP. I knew that $3,000 would fund some new projects I’ve been working on plus leave a tad bit for a rainy day. After we rolled out the fundraiser my mind shifted to what are we gonna do if we don’t meet our $5,000 goal??
Well I’m writing each of you to thank you for making me completely wrong! You crushed my $3,000 expectation in a matter of days and have surpassed the $6,000 mark in under a week. I cannot tell you how thankful we at TFP are for your generosity. These funds are going to allow TFP to really start to tiptoe into some new areas in the near future. These funds will go a long ways to reach out to pool owners and help them learn TFPC.
I have briefly spoken to our mystery donator and they too are amazed at the generosity of this forum. They wish to encourage all to continue to support TFP and donate. If you haven’t had the opportunity to donate this week we ask that you to please still donate. Our donator in fact wishes so dearly for the donations to continue that I’m proud to announce that now all donations now up to $10,000 will be doubled!
I once again thank each of you for helping TFP! The support we have seen over the last week is simply amazing to me.

Wait...did you just say we have hit 6K and the mystery donor has agreed to continue matching all the way to 10K???
This would mean if we hit it TFP would have 20K...is this correct? Is the deadline still July 31?

Okay way to get me off my butt... I’ve been meaning to donate. I haven’t asked many questions but read soooo many threads to help me figure out the pool that my dream house came with. I never thought I would own a pool.... and never particularly wanted one but TFP has made it work for me. My four kids and husband love love love the pool and I am proud to be the best informed pool girl around!
Yes Cliff, that’s exactly what’s occurring. TFP’s members have stepped up and kicked some butt the last few days, to the tune of $6,000. This blew us all away as none of us expected that to occur. It was enough of a surprise the donor agreed to up it as they can see the good this forum is doing.
I’d like to kinda answer a thought that I’m sure is on some members minds, “what is TFP going to do with this money?” As we mentioned before TFP runs on funds from our supporters and this group takes great care of us. One of the first things we plan on doing is setting some funds aside to maintain a safety net in case of a rainy day. If donations unexpectedly drop (which they easily will) we want to have funding set aside so we can continue to press forward during the slump. With those funds set aside we plan on moving very slow with this as we don’t want to rush into something just to find out our planning stunk. We’ve had a few upgrades in progress which these donations will assist in but for the most part we’re gonna have to review our opportunities once things settle down. Rebecca and I have tossed the ideas of YouTube, hardback books, or just funding the forum for several years around in my head but nothing has hit us in the head just yet. Regardless what we do please knownit will have some thought put into it and will proceed with the mission we currently are on, to teach and develop TFPC.

My fulltime job rubbish starts in about 4 hours and I’m supposed to be sleeping yet the stinking girls decided fighting is more important than sleep tonight.
I’m slowly working on a few items but doubt I’ll get things completed before I head off to make the donuts but one is in the works.
