After 12 years, we are finally having our liner replaced. I thought I'd share photos of the project. We all love photos right?:kim:

Day 1: Following the Drain and partial tear out. The kept the floor in to protect from overnight storms. I had no idea my liner had completely faded to white!!!

Day 2: Remaining tear out, with a closeup of the underside of my repair job. The leak started digging into the clay, but no sinkhole.

More to come...

Yeah, I love that natural blue look. But it was time for something different.

more photos from Day 2:

The old liner is totally out now!

And here is a closeup of the area under my patch. You can see where the vermiculite was eaten completely through, and how it started eroding the soil and carrying it down the slope!

And here are several other areas where significant damage can be seen.

The more experienced guy says that overall our pool isn't in horrible shape. What do you guys think? It certainly has spots that need some work. But he says they've also been dealing with a lot of "cave in" jobs this year. Compared to that, I guess this isn't that bad.

Mind if I ask how much this cost you? Did they charge more for the repairs? I got a quote for a new liner for $3,100 for about the same size as your pool.

The liner replacement alone was $3,600 plus tax. That includes one bucket of quickcreet for repairs. We also are having the diving board (cracked!) replaced and a new LED Intellibrite light installed as part of the project. Total price including tax was $5,200.

Our job required 3 additional buckets of quickcreet for repairs, 80 bucks/bucket I think. We also had to replace the foam backing, additional $250.

So all in all, we should come in around $5,700.

That is going to be a lot of water!!!!

Do you have to pay for water/sewage in your area? If so you might be able to give them a call to let them know you are filling a pool so they do not charge you the sewage part of it.

The official policy online States that a second metered connection is required for pool/irrigation, ie non sewage water uses.

I'll probably try to call anyway, when the pool was built that's what we did and saved.

Filling is taking FOREVER!!!!

Thanks! We originally had a light liner, so this represented quite a difference for us. We love it!!!

We're about 26 hours into the fill and still haven't breached the shallow end yet

About 48 hours into the fill now...

We have a new diving board, new light, new screwless skimmer plates, and new eyeball style returns! Water level on the lowest step now too.

I'm also working on the equipment pad. New spider gasket and upper multiport assembly, new check valve, new pump and filter drain plugs, new manual air relive valve and pressure gauge, the whole makeover!

Ha... Yeah, this has been QUITE the year for my pool. More problems in 2018 than any year prior. I had to replace my Autopilot panel a couple weeks ago as well! So I'm trying to take a proactive stance with the remaining equipment.[emoji16][emoji16]
