First test of the year - SLAM was successful

Hiya,

So another wonderful Pool Season begins!

Been SLAMMING all week. Finally had success on Thursday night thru Friday morning.

That said, Pool is still ever so slightly cloudy...? Any thoughts there folks? (See photos attached)

Here are my results - I'd like to add salt tonight/tomorrow.

CYA - 55
FC - 17.5 (has dropped from 30)
CC - 0
CH - 75
TA - 60
BR - 5
PH - 7.2
Salt ppm - 2000

First, why was your FC at 30ppm? For a CYA of 55ppm, you should have been maintaining 22ppm.

Sand filters are just slower at clearing up the last bit of cloudiness.
Have you Deep Cleaned your Sand Filter?
After that you could try to Add DE to your Sand Filter.

Thanks for the response.

FC spiked...I put in an extra bottle of chlorine by mistake.

I'll look up the filter links now...it's been clearing up..very, very slowly.

I do have DE on hand and no, I've never performed any other filter function other than backwash. Some studying to do.
