Pool specs:

Above ground
54" walls
18 ft diameter

Pump:

Hayward turbo injection 2pd
Hayward Aquatrol low salt chlorinator
Hayward 24 in Filter (glass media)
Pentair Mastertemp 125 heater.

Climate: Eastern Canada aka winter November-April, full on winterizing of pool.

Looking for advice on opening a brand new pool!

Read Pool School - Opening Your Winterized Above Ground Pool

Do you have your own test kit? Can you add where your location is in Ontario. It is a fairly large province.

Thanks for replying. I've read through a lot of pool school and am ready to start. I am ordering a pro kit, but am finding out it's complicated in Canada! I am hoping to fumble my way through to a swimmable state ASAP until my kit arrives.

I am in Ottawa, the capital! Eastern Ontario, so not as warm as southern Ontario.

I have posted in the "Just Getting Started" forum because I have some non-chemistry related questions as well to starting up a brand new pool.
