Hi everyone! Rob and I are from WV and are new inground pool owners...we are looking to make new allies in the pool of knowledge here . We both are retired and have grandchildren. Our pool is 67 years old and is made of stainless steel with a concrete bottom. We are currently in the process of updating the equipment....our next project is to paint the bottom.

The pool lid is soooooo amazing...To think that someone had enough money to do that in the 50's is crazy to me. We always did ok but the original owner/builder of this home was loaded. There is a real history that goes with this house...its very interesting but a very long story lol

When you have the time we LOVE a good story!

Is there any way we can talk you out of painting the bottom? I hate to see you do all of that work for it to only last 2 to 3 yrs There other things you can to do to fix/freshen it up if you are interested.

So how did you end-up getting all the water out? Was it the main drain after all, or a separate sump pump? Something else?
