15 foot pool liner for 16 foot pool?

Hi all,

We just bought a used Doughboy 16 foot round, 48" above ground pool. I went to our local pool supply store to buy a new overlap liner for it. They sold me a 15 foot round liner. In their supply book it actually said 15/16 foot round liners, with a list of patterns. I chose one and purchased it. On the box it clearly says 15' liner. The employee has assured me that it will fit. He said it's designed to stretch, etc. Is this normal? It seemed common practice to them, but I'm concerned it will not work out.

If it was a unibead or J-bead I'd be concerned (and even they will stretch a good bit), but with an overlap liner it will be fine. Make sure the top of the wall doesn't have any burrs or sharp edges.

Thank you! This is our first time doing this.. We have the walls up and the sand ready, but the weather is currently cool and I'm reading that it will need to be a warm sunny day in order to install this liner.

Yeah, it'll need to be kinda warm and sunny. That makes it a lot easier to get it set and all the wrinkles out.

You will find the cover it stretches as it fills. Don't be concerned but also be ready to be there, constantly releasing the binder clips or A clamps (Doughboy shows how to do this on their website video).

ignore the later part that shows how to finish it if partially buried.
