I have a SWG set at 80%. Temps are around 100 during the day and 80's at night. The water is clear, but no chlorine levels at all in the evening and not a whole lot to start the day. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Lori,

You really did not provide us with enough info... What SWCG do you have and how long are you running the pump?

Generally, with a SWCG pool you want your CYA level to be between 70 and 80 so that the sun does not consume the FC during the day.

SWCGs are not very good at getting from zero to 5 or 6 ppm (where your FC should be) very fast. What you need to do is add Liquid Chlorine or plain bleach to bring your FC up quickly.

You also need to ensure that there is nothing in your pool that is consuming your FC.. To do that you need to perform an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test or OCLT... See this... Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

Thanks for posting,

I have an Pentair IntelliClor - running 12 hours a day.
Welcome to the forum.

Which model is it, the IC20, IC40, or IC60

Your 27' pool holds about 19,000 gallons of water, so the IC40 would be the smallest unit recommended. The IC20 will need to run at 100% 24/7 to keep up with chlorine demand.
