First time pool owner . We had one when I was a kid. I got to do all the maintenance and hated it

But FF 40 years and I'm back in the game . The wife and I did a ton of the work ourselves after firing moron pool builder who did Gunnite etc. We subbed everything we couldn't do, but helped, hands on, with about every step.

Our design. We took various things we found online and made a hybrid interpretation. Just started salt generator like 30 minutes ago, YAY!

We love St. Martin, so brought a little of that home. Definitely inspired by

So just over 1 year ago, our back yard was 100% grass, a chain link fence, and a little patio we had stained brown.

We extended the roof line, added the outdoor kitchen, built the pergola/cabana, and the pool of course. At times we wanted to stop and bury it (or us)

But it was worth it:
