My starting level of CYA level was 0. Do I have to wait a certain period of time before testing the CYA level after the addition of stabilizer? I am using the sock method for addition of cyanuric acid. I have a 17,000 gallon above ground pool (5ft deep) and after adding almost 4 lbs of stabilizer, I am still not receiving any measurable value for CYA on my K-2005 test kit. Thanks.

If that 4 lbs is all dissolved from the sock, it may take about 24 hours or so to record. But after a day or two, most of it should record.
Cya test needs the water to be warm. You can assume it's in there unless you poured it into the Skimmer then back washed it all out.
The water is definitely not even close to warm yet - so even if the cyanuric acid is testing 0, I should assume there is an adequate CYA level and just wait until the water warms up to retest? Guess I have never heard the CYA test needs the water to be warm. Interesting.

You can bring the water sample inside for an hour or so to reach room temperature then do the visual test.
