My Husband is not wanting to pay a whole lot for a saltwater generator, That being said, I saw a used Hayward Aqua rite generator for sale. Problem is it is 9 years old.... owner says it works flawlessly. Say actual cell replaced 3 years ago. it is the t cell 15. Here is my issue, He is asking $400 for it. I realize that cells need t be replace every 3-5 years or so. Any thoughts on this? If i need to replace the cell Im back up to at least $600 . Is 9 Years old just too old to risk? If I was to purchase new, What would you recommend? I am considering the circupool sj-40 generator. Pool is approx 17,000 gallons. We have the standard wiring 120v going out to our pool. The pool Factory recommended the saltron RJ for 20000-25000 gallons . I questioned about doubling the size and then he said if I want to do that go with the saltron Reliant for 30,000 gallons. Any help would be appreciated.
