CYA not showing up!!!

So this year we basically almost totally drained our pool and refilled. I started adding CYA so that I could start slamming (added 5lbs) last week like Thurs.When I test for CYA it's not showing up at all!!! Idk what's going on! My ph level was high (it was pink) over 8 so I today added Muratic Acid to lower to 7.6
there is 0 FC And 0 CC
Any suggestions????

What volume did you have set for your pool in pool math when you calculated that you needed to add five pounds?

CYA regent is pretty stable.

That 5 pounds should have added 40ppm.

I know you said this is mostly new water.
Have you added any chlorine yet?
I would add 10ppm of FC and then test the FC and CC after about 15 minutes and report back.

I have added chlorine. Sunday I did and today my reading is zero.

Are you aware that you are supposed to be adding chlorine everyday?

Yes, but I didn't start slamming yet because of the cya not showing up. What would you guys do at this point?

Can you explain exactly how you are testing your CYA? Step by step please...you are using the k2006 or the tf-100, correct?

Did you back wash your pool anytime after adding the CYA? If you did, that could have washed it out since it can get trapped in the filter until it fully dissolves?
