would these work as a bottom mat?

Someone local is selling these rubber interlocking flooring mats for $2.00 a mat. I found what appears to be the same item on Amazon and it says indoor and outdoor use. Could these be used on the pool floor to cushion the liner? I don't want a moldy mess under there.

this is what i have under our pool and everybody loves the feel. nice and soft and does not leave footprints. almost the same price as what those you are looking at. those you posted are the ones you see in the gym that does not have much give. i actually think they make those weight lifting pads the same as they do tires with the steel in them.

I just installed the mats from harbor freight. The are great. You can catch them on sale for $6.99 for 4 pcs

Yes, they are technically gym mats. They are made from rubber which I thought may stand up to being buried. We live in a rocky area and I am concerned about rocks making there way up to the bottom of the pool.

yes, i really like the way the mats feel under the liner.

We used them too. I kind of wish we had taped them together. All the sediment in the pool settles into the grooves in between, although I've never had a problem vacuuming it out. They do feel very good underfoot.

i wished i had put down 2 layers of tape over the grooves. i have sediment that gets into the grooves too even though it was taped.

I think I am just going to stick with the one piece floor pad. I don't want to have groves from all the joints.

i dont think you would have the grooves if you were to put 2 layers of tape instead of the 1 that i did. either way i am sure you will enjoy the nice soft pool bottom.
