I received my TF100 XL kit w/ Speedstir Magnetic Stirrer yesterday. I brought in a pool guy to ONLY vacuum the bottom of the pool as it had a lot of debris due to the previous owner of the house neglected it. You guys convinced me to get a Doheny's Discovery that should arrive in 2 or 3 days :) . I asked the pool cleaner guy to give me an estimate on the size of the pool in gallons and he said he estimates 15,000 gallons.

Here's the results below:
CL 1-2
pH 7.8
FC 1.5
CC .5
CH 550
TA 260
CYA 110 or 120

Should I do a slam or how should I proceed first?

Thank you!

I'm trying to figure out how to drain it. Here's some pictures, please help me identify what's what:
http://screencapture.it/2017-05-07_1434fghfgh4.png --- This picture is in the rear of the house by the pool so it seems to me that's where the water should come out if I drain it correct?
http://screencapture.it/2017-05-07_1436dfdfdf.png -- Main pool underwater skimmers correct?

Thanks again!

Great news everyone, after the second 60% water drain my CYA is now between 35-40, I checked it 3 or 4 times. I then checked the 2 most important things Cl and pH

Cl = 0.5
pH = 8.2

I guess I need to purchase some liquid bleach at Walmart.

So here's my new measurements
pH 7.0
FC 3.5
CC .5
TA 110
CH 175
CYA 35-40

I guess I went a little bit too much on the pH reducer. Only thing that remains appears to need to be stabilized is CH. I still need to have an accurate measurement of the pool, it's between 10,000 gallons and 15,000. But with it not being in a perfect rectangle it's hard to measure. Are you guys/gals able to estimate with the below pics?

The pool is looking GREAT. This is the best I've seen it since I moved into the house early May

My new numbers:

pH 7.5
FC 4(need to increase it to 6 or 7)
CC .5
CH 225(should I increase it to 250?)
TA 80 (I need to increase it to 110)
CYA is now 30-35

I have a spa attached to the pool, does that change anything?

Thank you,
h3h

All of those levels appear as expected aside from maybe the CC. No need to raise the CH or TA, those are within target range. Your need to increase FC is correct, go for 7.

CC is .5. When you added the R-0871 the sample went completely clear correct?

Your numbers look good to me. Just add cl till you get to slam level for the cya and keep going. My outdoor has a ta of 70 and likes it so you might even be spot on for your pool :) for the measuring of your pool and spa, I'm not even going to try!
