Hello,
Pool was finished early August last year and had about 6 weeks before closing for winter. Used strips for testing and pool store for testing. Never had consistent readings from either so I ordered a Taylor 2006C test kit and used it for the first time this past week.
Need advice on results.
Pool opened 4/26/17
Test results:
4/27/17 @10am
FC 4
CC .6
pH 7.0
TA 150
CH 200
CYA 45
Salt 2930
Water temp 57°
4/30/17 @6pm
FC 5.2
CC .2
pH 7.2
TA 150
CYA 50
Salt 2930
Water temp 64°
Did overnight free chlorine loss test and these are the results:
5/1/17 @9am
FC 5.8
CC. 2
pH 7.2
TA 160
CH 170
CYA 90
Salt 2930
Water temp 64°
I know the TA is high. How do I lower it besides aeration? I have a SWG and I also have a pool slide i could turn on for aeration. pH is on low end too but adding Borax to raise it will also said TA.
Last year I had a hard time keeping FC level up so I was prepared to have to SLAM it figuring there was algae problem. Do any of my results indicate I need to do that?
Also last year CYA was always about 50 and it started that way this year. But this morning it was at 90.
Haven't turned on the heater just yet..don't think I'll be swimming for a couple of weeks. But if you think the cold water temp is affecting any of the readings, I will turn it on.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
