    DE Powder in compost

Would cleaning DE filter in compost be ok or bad idea?

    Re: DE Powder in compost

It's not going to break down into anything and will likely cake up and make the consistency of the compost difficult to work with. It's also a mild insecticide in that the silica particulates will cut up the outer layers of worm skins or remove the waxy coatings on insect shells. So the compost will kill anything trying to burrow in or through it.
