Shocking hot tub for combined chlorine levels

From what I have read I should have my pump run continuously when adding chlorine bleach to lower my combined chlorine level to 0.5 or lower. However, my pump (jets) automatically turn off after @ 20 minutes unless heating. Do I have another method available? Should I let the water cool down and then try shocking? Hot tub is indoors and CYA is 30.Thanks for any advice.

Does the tub have only one pump for jets and recirculation? It's best to run it, but the chlorine will work fine on CCs even if the water is not moving. The chlorine will convert the CCs into volatile compounds that outgas from the water so try to leave the cover off for a few hours if you can.
