jbizzle is right when he mentions that you lose a % of your chlorine per day. Here is the thread where I recently did a test:

This may help you to plan so that you can ask your friend to dump some chlorine in at a certain time or day.

Wow interesting. So you averaged around 25% loss per day? I can have someone dump a jug in a couple days. Although I kind of want to let it ride to see where it ends up, for the same type of experiment you did.

Results are in! Pool was pretty dirty, lots of leaves. The biggest problem is the water level was down almost 2 inches. In 5 days?

Little tweak on ph needed. I added more water, will retest in a bit before adding anything.

Added around 2 inches of water yesterday, retested today, all looks good, just need to add some chlorine. Results from poollogger.com

I must have some hard, higher ph city water?

No way the CH went up that much.

I'm pretty sure I had those values flipped. I'm also new to testing, do i could have errors.
