White buildup

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a used intex ultra frame pool. It was only owned for a month before I got it. When I set it up, there was a decent size white stain or buildup in the center of the pool. I assumed it would go away with good water, But it's still there. It is sorta rough. What could it be and how would I go about getting rid of it?

Sounds like it is scale. Are you maintaining your ph below 7.8? More here, Pool School - Calcium Scaling

My ph is low right now.. ive been slowly adding borax to raise it..

Is it possible that it is just bleached from the previous owners chlorine?

Is it able to come out of the liner if it is bleached?

I talked with the lady who previously owned it... apparently it's chlorine.. they had some kind of chlorine ball and it sat on the pool floor..

Is there a way to get rid of it?

Nope. Bleaching is irreversible. I have some bleaching on mine, but it has been there a couple of years so I don't worry about it. (Happened pre-TFP!)
