Just found this forum and it looks like a perfect fit for us. My wife and I retired from a hectic life in California and last year moved to a farm in a very rural part of Tennessee. In our side yard is an 14 X 28 foot in ground pool, which would be great on a hot summer day. Unfortunately the liner is torn and it has about 12" of black / green water / black yuck in it plus a large collection of frogs, salamanders and tadpoles. We have some folks coming out to install a new liner this Saturday, in preparation I have taken the booster pump to a motor shop ( bearings are shot, howls like mad) and am looking a cleaning up what I believe is a sand filter (it doesn't have a label on it). Lots of questions to follow...
