Based on what I have found out - I will better off buying 96 ouncers of 6% at Aldi's. An earlier post mentioned Wal*Mart selling 10% gallons - will have to check that out too!

we just opened last weekend and our water was very clear.....i was suprised. our walmart does not have the 10% i have to stick to 6% from the grocery myself.
Im having a brain fart, would it be cheaper to buy Aldi 6% bleach at $1.29 for 96 oz.. or would it be cheaper to buy 10% Chlorine for $2.50 for 128 oz.? Im trying to figure with the percentage of bleach formulated into the cost too.

You might try Home Depot. I noticed the store in Fayetteville has it, but note, the containers looked as if they had been there quite a while - so- you may not be getting what you are paying for in terms of potency. If they look ok there, you could be good to go.embellisher said:

I'm in NE Oklahoma. It is hard to find 12% liquid chlorine anyway. THe pool stores don't carry it. I did find 1 gallon size at Atwoods, but for $5.99! Crazy. I am using Walmart's 6% (1.42gallon) for 2.54 right now.
I just called around and found 5gal of 12% for $10.99 plus $6 deposit in Southern NH
Just found a local pool supply house with 5gal 12% for $16.99 plus $6 deposit.

The only place I have been able to find it in Richmond Va is Pressure Works (powerwashing store). $13 for a 5 gallon carboy. The guy at the counter says about 30% of their chlorine sales are to pool owners.

Every Wed. $10.99 for 4 gal 12.5% at a pool store in SE MI, I usually buy 2 or 3 cases at a time. This year they put a sign up saying "with other purchases". $12.99 apparently if you don't but their other chemicals. They said they are trying to discourage the people that only come in to buy bleach, ME!
I'm getting 10% from ACE Hardware at $1.99 / gal. in a 2.5 gal. jug (exchange). The jug cost $5 bucks - not too bad. This is in Bay Co. FL.
It's just a tad bit more expensive than 6% bleach from wally-world ... but it's 10% vs 6% ... so it's a better value.
