My pool builder provided algaecide and metal magic at startup implying I needed to use those. what is the reason for those at a start-up of a pool and I'm assuming I really don't need them but want to check.
Okay since I never use them and we're almost 4 weeks into our pool start up should I just ignore them at this point or go ahead and use them for added insurance.
Since the surface of your plaster is probably cured by now, I don't see where the sequestrant would be of any help now. Any unpredicted staining at start-up would have already occurred. No need for algaecides either if you are maintaining proper FC/CYA levels to avoid algae.
Ultimately, I don't see any reason for either but I am wondering if you ever have a warranty issue, can they say, "Did you add to the pool what we said to add?"

Thanks. If it is not going to harm anything I can go ahead and add it just to be sure but the pool does not have any issues with staining, algea, etc. All is well at this point.
