Wondering if anyone may estimate the number of gallons of regular (8-9% sodium hypochlorite) bleach I should have on hand to SLAM A 45,000 gallon in ground? TC is 3, FC is .5.
Hello and welcome to TFP! To be honest, it's impossible to answer your question at the moment since we have no idea how long a SLAM will take to clear your water. We also do not know what your current CYA reading is which drives how high your FC level should be. So if you could provide us with a good CYA reading from your TF-100 or Taylor K-2006, we can give you some ideas. Of, you can use the Poolmath Calculator (link below) which is what we use anyways. Depending upon the condition of your water, a SLAM can easily last anywhere from 7-14 days. "Swamps" can last a bit longer.
