We had had a lot of rainy seasons lately and it seemed I was constantly battling algea..I would shock it but never really would clear up..This Spring I drained it and pressure washed it ( just water ) and refilled..I also bought a good test kit and made sure the water was were it should be. The water is crystal clear and although it may cost be a couple hundred bucks in water It's probably saved me by not having to keep buying shock and yellow out
Mine seemed to have some sort of mustard algea that wouldn't die, after I pressure washed it good I left it empty for a week to dry out any hiding algea
I know some folks feels it's a waste but in my case it was well worth it
