I decided to upgrade our inflatable pool this year to a 10ft round 30in high metal frame pool. I thought I had read that a pool filter and chlorine tabs should be good enough to keep it swimable, and now I'm overwhelmed with the amount of work and added cost to maintain.
So, when I set it up and fill it up, what's next? I've got the app and I have test strips, though apparently Taylor is better. It's not a huge pool, 1200 gallons. I'm questioning how much work it needs to be. Seems like most of what I read is for much larger pools.

Welcome to TFP.
Small pools can be dumped easily so long as water costs are reasonable. Did a pump and filter come with the pool? It is always recommended to have a proper test kit - the TF-100 at tftestkits.net may be ideal for your set up.
