Standard PVC cement for patch?

Hey Folks, vinyl pool with a pinhole leak. Is there any difference between standard PVC cement used for plumbing and the 4oz adhesive tube that comes with vinyl repair kits? Got plenty of liner and didn't want to buy a patch kit unnecessarily. thx, SR

Yes they are different. You need to use the vinyl adhesive. Recommendation is to use HH-66.

i've seen that online, but not in pool stores. At my local pool store, it's just a generic kit with 4oz of adhesive. Any way to tell if its the same stuff as the hh-66?

Buy it online its cheaper and you know what you are getting.
