Thank you for responding! I'm leaving town for about 6 days and turning this over to my daughter....leaving a pool for a week shouldn't freak me out like this!!! Haha
Those are excessively high chlorine levels for your reported CYA. If 20 ppm is good, for example, that doesn't mean 35 ppm is better. You will lose more chlorine and also risk damage to pool surfaces and equipment. See previously mentioned chlorine/CYA chart for proper levels during SLAM.

And I just found out the overnight test I performed Was no good because "someone" put my chorine feeders back in the pool! So I'm gonna do the test again tonight. And threaten all my house to stay away from the pool!!! Ha
